Opportunities
BFFLR needs help with every aspect of running a farm and a
successful rescue operation. Below
are a list of tasks you may be able to help us with.
Volunteer hours at BFFLR can be used to satisfy community
service hours required for graduating high school students. Volunteers must be
12 years old or older to volunteer, unless accompanied by a parent. Parents of
Youths under the age of 12 must work along side their child and supervise them.
Animal Interaction (will be done with and to assist
BFFLR Herd Manager until specifically denoted).

Training for social behavior/health maintenance.

Training for 4H/Pets-On-Wheels activities

Herd health assistance
Ü
Daily/weekly feeding needs
Ü
Animal maintenance needs (such as, shearing for llamas and
alpacas)

Farm inspections – animal follow-up visits.
Office Help

Grant/proposal writing
Ü
Website maintenance

Accounting services

Marketing advisors
Ü
Office work – bookkeeping, filing, etc.

Legal advisors/representation

Follow-up calls

Cold call for support or supplies

Farm Maintenance

Repairs/improvements to fencing, housing, etc.

Field and stock clean-up

BFFLR will require all volunteers to attend an individually
scheduled orientation. This will
last about one hour. If volunteer
is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must attend the orientation.
All volunteers are required to complete and submit a Volunteer
Application & Waiver.
